Loudoun County Awarded $17M for Broadband

  • by

A lot has happened since we last sent you an update, and we are excited to tell you that broadband is making progress in Loudoun County.

On December 13, 2021, Governor Northam announced that Loudoun County is being awarded over $17M from the VATI grant program. Added to the $14M committed by Loudoun County (from federal ARPA funds) and over $21M from All Points Broadband, this means that Loudoun County residents can look forward to seeing the broadband gap eliminated.

Many of you have asked if your home or business will be covered by this project. LBA is compiling updates to our maps so that you can find out. Expect updates by the first of the year.

There’s exciting news for Hillsboro, too. The Town of Hillsboro entered into an agreement with KGI Communications to deliver fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) Internet to town residents and businesses.

Finally, we send our congratulations to Cladded Glass for progress on their FTTH project in the North Fork area. They report service is available to approximately 60 homes in the area and continuing to grow.
